Fed: Boswell defends himself as preselection battle heats up

Veteran Nationals Senator RON BOSWELL has dismissed calls from his own party to quit
politics .. and make way for a new generation of senators.

The Queensland politician's told ABC radio he's fought hard for his constituents in
the fishing and banana industries .. and he's the best person to win his seat again.

Senator BOSWELL .. who's 65 .. faces a tough preselection battle against JAMES BAKER
.. a former journalist and senior Nationals staffer.







Mr BAKER is also a close friend of Queensland Nationals Senator BARNABY JOYCE .. whom
Senator BOSWELL has publicly criticised for opposing the federal government on several
major issues.
